记得那一年的一个上午，天气很寒冷，我从人才市场投完简历，人挤人地走了出来。一摸口袋，糟糕！身上仅存的唯一一张一百元钱不见了。这个时候，我的心中一片茫然。这可是我的全部家当啊！现在没了，该怎么办才好？
就这样，我从人才市场出来之后，独自茫然地在寒风中走着，肚子里发出的“咕噜，咕噜”声音，似乎在提醒我，午饭时间到了。何况早上为了到人才市场赶场子，我连早餐都没吃，可是现在身上却连买个烧饼的钱都没有。路边的餐馆，飘散出来的饭菜香味，让我直咽口水。就在我路过一家超市的时候，有人让我走开一些。原来是给那家超市运货的一辆满载货物的货车到了。当时因为我又饿又冷，于是就紧了紧自己身上的衣服走到了超市对面的车站，木然地站着。接着，我看到超市里走出来一个老板模样的人，自己一个人在卸货，开货车的`司机悠然地在驾驶室里抽烟，也不给他搭把手。
这个时候，我走了过去跟老板说：“老板需要帮忙卸货吗？”老板看了看我，虽然嘴上没说话，但是他的表情却在暗示让我走开。只是我接着对他说 ：“老板，我的钱丢了，现在连吃饭都成问题，我帮您卸货，您看着给点吧！十元二十元都行。”听我这么一说，老板回应到：“好吧！不过，这车货卸掉之后，还有100多箱啤酒瓶给我装上车。”虽然当年工作是不好找，钱也很难赚，一般工厂工人的月薪千把元算是可以了。但是此时这么多的活，说实在的，平日里做小工要个五六十元工钱也不算多。何况当时还是寒风刺骨的季节。不过，我接着老板的话，说了一句“没问题”。就接过手，卖力地干了起来。在折腾了2个多小时之后，我终于干完了活。
干完活之后，说实在的，我不仅汗流浃背，而且也已经精疲力尽了。一阵寒风吹来，使我不禁地打起了哆嗦。这个时候，老板走过来问我：要多少钱？我还是跟原先说的一样：老板，您看着给吧！十元二十元都行。老板当时摸出了一张百元的“伟人头”递给我（当时的一百元正面印着毛周刘朱四位领袖的头像）。我看了看是张百元大钞就没拿，并对他说：老板，您给我一张百元大钞，我可没钱找您啊！这个时候，老板看着我憨厚的样子，笑着对我说：小伙子，我没让你找钱啊！我看得出你是个实在人，这张一百元就是给你的。同时，老板还顺手从货架上拿了一瓶饮料和两袋面包给我。这个时候，我憨笑着，并对老板说着：谢谢老板，谢谢老板。于是，就兴高采烈的回宿舍了......
“爸爸，那叔叔跪在地上干吗？”身旁，我五岁女儿的一句提问，将我从遐想中拉了回来。这个时候，我对女儿说：那叔叔在卖东西。女儿奇怪地看了看我，一副百思不得其解的样子：“卖东西？爸爸，那叔叔他是在卖什么东西呢？”我回答道：“尊严。”女儿不明白尊严是什么东西。我就告诉她，等她长大之后，就明白了。就这样， 父女俩边说着，就边向停车场走去了。我也不知道平时遇到乞讨者的时候，一般我多少都会给予他们一些帮助的，但是这次却没有。从超市门口走到停车场，我看到了超市附近这一带，有很多家商铺以及餐馆的玻璃窗上都张贴着招聘启事，有招聘售货员、装卸工、厨师、洗碗工、洗菜工......
后来，等到我开车从停车场出来，路过超市门口的时候，我隔着汽车的玻璃窗，向那超市的门口望去，那年轻的小伙子，仍然低着头，跪在那里......
