电影用天马行空的想象力，多重叙事手法穿插，从回忆到现实，从死亡到重新选择，每一次都给人以生活抉择的思考。尼莫118岁记忆混乱中，人们试图搞清楚他的过往，在他的沉睡与清醒之间，他慢慢地叙述了由他的三次不同的选择而形成的三个关于他的爱情故事。最后人们问他，那他年轻的时候究竟哪个才是他的真实人生？最后那三个爱情故事中究竟哪一个才是他的爱情故事？因为这三个故事都是在同一时刻发生的，而他只有一个人，不可能同时与三个女孩一起结婚生子。可是尼莫说，这每一个都是他的爱情故事，这是源于他的`选择不同而发生的不同故事罢了。
电影最终没有说哪一个才是他的真实人生，在我看来，我个人觉得影片向我们叙述的并不是究竟哪个才是尼莫的真实人生，而是想表达没有最完美的人生，一切皆有遗憾，每一次选择都是正确的，选择后经历的一切，都是值得的。一切都是最好的安排。不同的选择，造就不同的人生。选择了一个，意味着放弃其他所有的可能性，因为时间是单向的，不可能倒流，即使如此一切的选择都是自己做出的，都是值得的。人生的无限可能性，一但选择了就没有回头路，如果还没有选择，那么一切则皆有无数的可能。
无数可能的背后，用电影主人公尼莫的话说：一切都可以是另外一个模样，而且具有同样重要的意义。每一个选择的背后都是正确的。做了选择，就去承担后来的不完美，不要后悔，活在当下。
