②按空间变换或场地转换分段
③按材料性质分段
④按作者思想感情变化分段
⑤按人物活动分段。
划分好段落后，概括段意，也可遵循以下方法：
①摘句法，直接摘引原句
②缩句法，有些段由一个长句组成，概括段意时，可将其压缩
③串联法，把层意合并归纳
④择要法，取主要层意为段意
