回顾历史，不难发现一个发人深省的普遍现象：文明越发达，衰亡就越彻底，正是人类发达的文明毁灭了人类自己。十九世纪，人们在沉睡千年的密林中，发现了兴起于4000年前的玛雅人遗迹。玛雅人的高度文明，一度被怀疑是外星人留在地球上的痕迹。然而玛雅文明，缘何倏忽间神秘消失?今天的考古学家给出了答案：是因为玛雅人对森林的乱砍乱滥，严重破坏了居住环境的原始天然水循环系统。失去了水源，玛雅人被迫流徙他乡，致使辉煌一时的玛雅文明悄然消失。
再如：十九世纪，美国鼓励向半干旱的西部大草原移民开荒，认为这是既发展西部又解决饭碗的聪明之举。然而过度的垦荒，造成土地大面积沙化，20世纪30年代，沙尘暴渐成气候。1935年，震惊世界的黑风暴，裹挟着大量新耕地的表层黑土，形成了东西长2400公里、南北宽1440公里、高约3公里的“黑龙”，3天中横扫美国三分之二的地区，把3亿吨肥沃表土送进了大西洋。黑风暴所经之处，农田道路被毁，小溪河流干涸，16万农民流离失所。事后美国专门制定“林业复兴计划”，推行免耕法，建立了国民资源保卫队，实施世界四大造林工程之一的“罗斯福生态工程”。沿西经100度线种植了一条宽100英里、纵贯美国的防护林带。才算恢复了这一地区的自然环境，避免了黑风暴的继续肆虐。
中国人勤劳，朴实，有许多西方人所没有的优点。今天的中国人，挖山，填湖，拔树。过度的开发，走的正是当年美国人的`老路。而且中国人更有美国人所没有的豪气，中国人要“征服自然”，中国人喜欢“与天斗，与地斗。”为了一点点眼前利益，不惜以牺牲资源为代价。建国以来，我们的人口翻了一翻，但我们消耗的资源却增长了几百，乃至几千倍。我们现在一天消耗的钢铁超过了1949年全年产量的4倍，日消耗量比1949年增加了1000多倍；我们现在每天消耗的原油，是1949年年产量的6倍，日消耗量比1949年增加了2000多倍。我们已经跃升为世界第一煤炭、钢铁消费大国，世界第二石油、电力消费大国。我们对此常常津津乐道，沾沾自喜。认为我们在高速发展，然而如果我们继续这样发展，并谋求达到美国人的人均消耗水平。那么我们已经探明的石油储量，仅够开采两年，我们所有的森林将在4年内被砍光。所以我们必须作出选择，是现在就作出某些牺牲，把发展的速度降下来，还是把沉重的代价留给下一代。环保部长周生贤说：“坐宝马车，喝污染水，是对现代化的极大讽刺。”我们现在已经知道，这样的发展，没有可持续性。所以我们提出了“科学发展观”。所谓科学发展，就是发展的目的是为了人类能更好的生存，发展必须有可持续性，发展必须坚持“以人为本”的原则。昨天四川武隆又发生山体滑坡，有消息称，这也是过度开采的结果。目前已造成至少59人被埋，26人死亡，事故再一次警示我们，忽视环境保护，必遭大自然的报复。
人们真得必须冷静下来，思考灾难给予的警示，人类文明虽然已经走得很远，但远远还没有强大到征服大自然的程度。人类不应谋求“人定胜天”，征服自然，而应当爱护自然界的一切生灵，并与之和谐相处。

我最亲的人是我的母亲，她同时也是我最好的朋友，唯一的朋友，真正的朋友。我的'母亲今年已经四十多岁了，可是她拥有着乐观的心，她是小朋友们心中的“开心阿姨”。她有一双明亮的大眼睛，高挺的鼻子，还有一双敏锐的耳朵和樱桃似的小嘴。她的脸上爬有几条皱纹，却衬托出她别样的青春。
在我童年的记忆里，母亲出现的次数最多。她给了我新的生命，还把一切都给了我。在风雨交加的晚上，我发烧了，母亲不管多么辛苦，都要冒着雨把我送到医院，自己被雨淋得湿漉漉地，可我的衣服全是***，没有一滴雨水打落到我的身上;在雷电交加的一天，我想要买一把小风扇，母亲又会冒着风雨陪我买回来，依然是那样，她都把雨水给我挡住了。难道母亲不怕生病吗?她绝对怕，可是为了我，她又会觉得这是值得的。所以，母爱是多么的伟大呀!
虽然有时我们的母亲会很啰嗦、很婆妈，觉得母亲很讨厌很讨厌，所以特地做出一些令她生气的东西。可有时母亲又是很辛苦地为了我们工作，我们实在不该气她呀!
鄂温克族有一句谚语说道：“母亲的宝贝是子女，好汉的宝贝是志气。”既然母亲的宝贝是我们这些子女，那我们就不应该讨厌母亲，而是：“子女的宝贝是母亲”啊!天下的子女们，请都不要再埋怨自己的母亲给你们添了麻烦，因为我们也给母亲添了许多的麻烦啊!
珍惜你们的母亲吧，尽子女的一份责任，在母亲年长之年，耐心地照顾一下她，一下母亲照顾我们时的辛苦。
母亲，希望您能永远陪伴在我的身边。母亲，我爱你!可是，怎能有您爱得我深呢?

for what i said above, we can find some eamples of our fellow-students studying abroad. all young men do housework as girls do. someone would argue that we can employ servants. this is true.however, what shall we do if the servant leaves us and all things are left to ourselves? we just cannot leave our clothes as they are and let worms and ants eat them up. and what can we do it we go and study in a foreign country where servants are out our means to employ? we must work for ourselves. why not start to learn to do housework now or else it will be too late? everyone should learn to do housework. what do you think about my idea, boys and girls?
