做了二十多年教育的工作，整天和孩子们打交道，亲眼目睹了独生子女的成长过程。我却发现他们越来越不会玩了，不知道怎么玩耍才感到快乐，小小年纪都喊累！因此，我的观点就是鼓励孩子们去玩耍。因为，贪玩，是孩子们生来就所具有的天性。
寻找孩子们失去的“天性”，让他们回归自然，才能找回孩子们的天真和烂漫。那么，孩子的天性是什么？就是玩。不让孩子们玩，就不是爱孩子。放暑假了，那就先让孩子玩好。
先说，是什么原因影响到孩子不会玩了？一是学校的老师不让玩。在学校，孩子们所学的课程都是应付中、高考的内容，老师没有安排孩子们玩耍的时间。二是家长不让玩。家长望子成龙心切，指望自己家的孩子学习成绩好，因此就拼命地督导孩子去学习、去进步。孩子放学后背着书包刚进家门，就是赶紧做作业的催促声;周日了，被家长送去上钢琴、英语、奥数等“兴趣”班，弄得孩子只有吃饭、睡觉的时间才算是“玩”。三是没人陪孩子玩。而今的家庭都是独生子女，孩子出门玩家长不放心。只有在家与爷爷奶奶玩，只有与父母给买的玩具玩。
有个教育专业人士分析说，如今玩具多了，科技含量也高了，孩子们玩的东西和玩的方式越来越智能化、私人化，传统游戏很多被淘汰了，孩子们户外集体活动越来越少，体质越来越差，同时因为很少接触外面的小朋友，性格越来越孤僻，缺乏团队精神，时常体现出自私的一面。
玩，对于孩子们的健康成长，就像一日三餐一样必不可少。孩子不会玩，不知道玩什么，成了今天普遍的一个社会现象。造成这种现实问题的原因是多方面的，主要是应试教育、升学就业压力、计生政策、人们生活方式的改变、家长的.过度担心、学校出于安全管理的限制等等。长此下去，孩子们玩的天性受到压制、玩的权利被剥夺，会引起很多生理和心理问题，如近视、忧郁、偏执、神经紧张等，孩子的健康成长势必受到影响。
看来，对于孩子们来说，玩，固不可少。让孩子们回归自然，就是让它们到自然界中去度过暑假。既是从孩子们的快乐出发，又是市场经济的驱使，各种形式的夏令营也开始在火热地报名中。我的意思是多方走走看看，征求多方面的建议，并尊重孩子的意愿，给他（她）选一个正规的、信誉高的、课程形式多样的夏令营，让孩子在运动中增长各方面的知识。
孩子总会有一天要长大的，到了成年就有服兵役的义务。无论是抗洪、抢险或者救援，都有可能参加。那就得学习游泳、现场救护、野外辨别方向等等。一些动植物标本都是在实验室见到，那些玻璃盒里面的标本永远是陌生的。夏令营不仅安排文化课、野外训练、互助求生等方面的训练都非常重要。让他们学得踏实、玩得尽兴，才能把孩子培育成一个真正健康、快乐、将来有所作为的人。
