在我看来，这段话深含着被许多人忽视的追求的美。
追逐，从来只有艰辛，向来美？
对曲啸的坎坷一生，大家也许还记忆忧新，从“老九”到“牛鬼蛇神”，从农场到“班房”曲啸在历时十年的政治风暴中几经磨难，但他一直不忘研读政史，终于在今日大有作为。他一生迂回曲折，却又始终向前，可是又有谁会因他生活历程的\'迂回曲折而否认他一生的瑰丽，人生的价值？相反，这些迂回曲折、载着他追逐奋斗的心血和汗水，人生的瑰丽正是从这些血汗中闪光，因而它比他今日的荣誉还美丽。
追逐，决不仅仅是艰辛，它蕴含着人生的美，洒下的汗水，艰难的摸索，总会给人留下永久的记忆。记及往事，人们会庆幸昔日的追求没有落空，更觉得那艰辛的摸索在一生中的壮丽。曲啸的人生之路证明了这一点，大凡有成就的人都有此种感受，屈原曾说：“路漫漫其修远兮，吾将上下而求索。”这道出了众多追逐者的心态，明知人生多崎岖，偏去经历风和雨，究其所以如此，因为他们知道人生的美正在追逐中。
有人也许会说，不是也有许多知名人士只求平淡一生吗？诸葛亮不也曾说过“淡泊以明志，宁静以致远”吗？
人生有多种追逐，总的来看。有物质是的追逐和精神的追逐。我们提倡的是在精神的不懈追逐，而在物质追求上，则完全同意诸葛亮的超脱观，诸葛亮所言也是正是反映淡于物质追逐，设想诸葛亮先生若无事业上的追逐，怕是无叱咤风云的一生的。
许多名人都是如此：对事业成就的追求越多，在物质上要求就越少，人生的追逐也只有精神上的追求才是壮丽的，物质上的追逐再多也只不过是在人生旅途中给自己多背上几斤重物，也只不过是在飞行的翅膀上多系上几斤黄金。
