夏季来临,各地已处在中小学生溺水事故的高发期。溺水是我省中小学生伤亡的重要原因。2007年，我省4-9月份发生的学生安全事故，溺水事故占了一半。今年4月份以来，我省亦连续发生了多起溺水事故。惨痛的教训，要引起我们对自己孩子生命安全的高度重视。为此，特发此信，请各位家长和我们一起共同来做好孩子的溺水等安全防范和教育工作。
首先，请各位家长一定要提高警惕，充分认识溺水事故的危害。溺水事故往往会给家庭和孩子带来难以挽回的后果，造成无法弥补的损失。各位家长请你们一定要充分认识到这一点。你们的一点疏忽，你们的一丝懈怠都很有可能给家庭带来沉重的伤害。请你们一定要根据自己孩子的\'身心特点，选择正确的家庭教育方式，晓之以理，动之以情，让孩子也能切实的认识到溺水事故的危害，从而避免溺水事故的发生。
其次，请各位家长做好预防溺水的家庭教育。良好的家庭教育是孩子健康成长的关键。安全教育关乎孩子的生命安全，孩子在家里活动时段，请你们将预防溺水的安全教育和监护工作放在心上，提高孩子的自我保护意识。要经常教育孩子做到游泳“四不去”：未经家长、老师同意不去，没有会游泳的成年人陪同不去，深水的地方不去，不熟悉的江溪池塘水库不去。要求孩子：没有家长陪同不到水库、池塘、江河溪流和水井等水域附近活动。平时对孩子的活动去向要多加关注，保持高度敏感。
再次，请各位家长教给孩子防溺水的技能，提高自护自救能力。有条件的家长可以教会孩子掌握游泳本领和溺水自救技能。还要让孩子知道在遭遇险情或发现有人溺水时，一定要立即大声呼喊求救，不要贸然下水营救。各位家长发现有学生在水边玩耍或游泳，不管是不是你们的孩子，请你们能及时进行劝阻，以减少意外事故的发生。
各位家长，孩子是祖国的花朵，是我们的希望和未来。保证孩子健康成长，关爱孩子的生命，是每个家长应尽的责任。安全事故猛于虎，任何一次安全事故都会影响孩子的身心健康，甚至可能吞噬我们孩子的生命，进而影响我们家庭的美满和幸福，造成无法挽回的后果。让我们携起手来，克服麻痹侥幸心理，牢固树立“安全第一、预防为主”的忧患意识，重视对孩子的安全教育与监护，提高溺水安全防范的自觉性和识别险情、紧急避险、遇险逃生的能力，共同承担起呵护孩子生命的责任。
