一般来说，扩写的原材料往往只有一个简单的梗概和情节。扩写就要发挥自己的想象力，对原文中不明确、不具体的地方，多问几个“怎么样”、“是什么”、“为什么”，针对这些问题展开合理而又丰富的想象。想象出更细致的故事情节，想象出更生动的人物形象，交代出必要的时间、地点、环境，把原文没有写出来的东西补充完整，把原文没有突出的中心意思更好的表现出来，使文章更加充实、丰满。
像《驴子渡河》的扩写就想象出了事情发生的时间、地点、天气、环境，还想象了驴子渡河时的动作、神态、几次自言自语和大量的心理活动，很好地写出了这篇扩写作文。
扩写时，可抓住关键词和重点句子，采用分解或提问的方法展开叙述或描写： 写事情要充分展开主要情节，写出前因后果和发展变化；
写人物要通过人物外貌、神态、语言、动作、心理的刻划，表现人物的性格特点； 写景物要抓住景物的形、态、色、声去进行细致描绘、展现物的特征。

1.注意：续写文章，要注意下面几点
①、根据题目给的材料要进行合理的设想，选择最佳的角度。
②、续写的内容一定要切合题意，并与提供的材料融合，融为一体。写作手法与语言要保持一致性，使整篇文章没有做作的痕迹。
③、如果是某记课文或根据文中的有关情节进行续写，要充分理解原文的中心、人物、主要事件，要顺着原文的思路开展合乎情理的想象，才能体现“续”的特点。
2.怎样才能做好续写作文
（1）要认真阅读提供的情节
不管是提供情节的续写，还是续编课文的故事，我们都要认真阅读原文，深刻地理解作者的本来意图。续写主要是靠自己的想象写成的，但是我们的想象必须在原情节的基础上想象，要顺着原作的思路想下去。 如“意想不到的事发生了”这“意想不到”四个字非常重要。比如小朋友在早晨穿着一件漂亮的新衬衫去上学，到了学校里，同学们看到了很羡慕，自己上课特别的认真，做作业特别的小心，心情十分的愉快，这些都是意想之中的事，是顺理成章的、要写“意想不到”的事，就不能写这些内容。否则就不符合原作的思路。
（2）要确定好文章的中心
续写、续编的故事，已成为单独的一篇文章，必须有个中心明确地表达自己的一个观点。如新衬衫被弄脏、撕破了，该怎么办？线写后的作文，要有一个正确的处理办法，这就是观点。再如续编《穷人》一课，桑娜抱回西蒙的两个孤儿后，生活会更艰难！ 她们夫妇两个人怎么来养育这么多的孩子呢；今后的事情会发生多种多样的变化，会有多种多样的结局。这要先确定一个观点，选择一种结局。而且我们选择的结局必须和原作者的观点一致，要忠实于原作者。
（3）要抓住要点，考虑周到
看图作文虽然也要想象，但是它只要把图上提供的主要情节想得再具体一点。而续写作文则不同，它不仅要想象事情发展的主要过程，而且要想象具体、周到，符合情理，没有漏洞。这就要我们先想象几个要点列好提纲，然后再细细思考。
（4）要反复推敲修改
续写作文与写自己亲身经历的事情也不一样。作文时不容易进人情境，写出来的话会很干瘪，没有感情。因此写好之后一定要反复推敲，仔细修改，不仅要注意事情的前因后果，首尾一致，而且要注意段落之间的过渡，句子间的衔接，还要注意文章的感情。

I surely disagree with father ’s philosophy. As a leader, he shouldn ’t use his power to make money. It is his duty to serve people wholeheartedly, just one person said “with great power comes great responsibility ”. If he stick to his philosophy. I believe that he will spend the rest of his life in prison. What’s worse, he could affect his son ’s philosophy, guiding him in the opposite direction , nothing can be done to reverse the trend itself. The only solution is to change father ’s philosophy. Because of many greedy officials in China, it is time to reverse the trend itself by establishing new policy. As Chinese always has been our confidence that we can change for the better and better.
In my opinion, there is more to to life than just money -it is happiness, nothing is important than happiness. We can live a colorful life in our spare time.
