① 在湖泊和海洋里，当藻类一生二、二生四，四省八这样漫无节制地繁殖起来的.时候，就形成了红潮。红潮来时，因藻类生长吸收了太多的氧气，致使当地的水域严重缺氧，大量水生植物窒息而死，此外，红潮还会在水中释放出神经毒素，使与之接触的人感染上呼吸道和神经系统疾病，甚至患上癌症。

③藻类之所以能漂浮在水面，而不会沉到水底，是因为它们身体里含有一种浮力细胞，里面含有氮气气泡，它们就像藻类与生俱来的救生圈，靠着这些气泡的浮力，就使整棵植株漂浮在水面上。
④而人们就抓住了藻类的这一特点，用特定频率的超声波引起浮力细胞里的气泡共振，当共振达到一定强度，气泡就会把细胞胀破，使得藻类失去浮力的支撑而下沉。一旦失去了水面的阳光，藻类在水下很快就会死亡。
