诸葛亮见到刘备有志替国家做事，而且诚恳地请他帮助，就出来全力帮助刘备建立蜀汉皇朝。三国演义把刘备三次亲自敦请诸葛亮的这件事情，叫做三顾茅庐。成语三顾茅庐由此而来，比喻访贤求才，真心诚意地邀请别人。
