《夏目友人帐》主要讲述了男主人公夏目贵志拥有可以看到妖怪的特殊能力。因为父母双亡他的性格较为孤僻，并且由于他具有特殊的能力，他常辗转在于亲戚之间并被同龄人欺负。虽然他经历了许多不幸，但他依旧有好善良没有埋怨任何人。最终他被有好善良的藤原夫妇收养并进入高中。有一天，他被妖怪追赶躲进神社，不小心打破了一只强大妖怪斑的封印。并牵涉到了他祖母夏目玲子的'遗物—一本同妖怪签订的契约书。之后，这只强大的妖怪平时便变成猫的样子待在夏目身边保护他，但是他的条件是夏目死后要把这本契约书给它。但在此之前夏目决定尽其所能把契约书上的名字还给妖怪们让它们得到自由。由此，一个个温馨、感人、惊险的故事就此展开。

在我的童年中，几乎每天都是精彩的，但在我的记忆中，那一天最难忘的，也是最开心的一天。
那一天，是“三八”妇女节，在吃中午饭的时候，我一直被送什么礼物给妈妈这个问题困扰着：送什么呢？送一张自己亲手制作的卡片？不行，时间不足，送妈妈一束康乃馨和满天星？不行，最近“仓库”里的'资金不足；送妈妈一句话：“妈妈节日快乐，愿您永远年轻。”不行，太俗了，都用过好几次了……在一阵深思熟虑之后，我终于想到了一个好办法。
大概到了下午三四点钟的时候，我拨通了妈妈的电话，问道：“妈妈，你下午几点钟回家？记住在下午六点半准时回家，你要是回来早了我不开门，回来晚了，嘿嘿……”通完电话，我立刻从储钱罐里把唯有的五元钱掏了出来，急忙去菜市场。
来到菜市场，从未买过菜的我也不知什么菜好呀！看这情况，我还得乱买了，我选了几样我会炒的菜，便买下了。回到家中，我马上将菜洗净后，又剁好了蒜末、姜末、葱末……。准备好了，便开始炒豌豆了，由于上一次炒豌豆“爆锅”的经历，这一次操作就更专业了，我先把油烧热了之后，再把葱末、蒜末和姜末放进了锅里，接着把豌豆也放进锅中爆炒，过了三分钟后，便出锅了！
妹妹将第一盘菜也端上了桌，我又接着炒了一份我最拿手的鱼香肉丝，我先把油烧开，再把葱丝放入锅里，将我的“秘制调料”放进了锅里，过了一会儿将红椒和青椒粒放进了锅里，接着把肉放进锅里炒，五分钟后，就出锅了！
最后，我又煮了一锅西红柿蛋汤，看了钟，六点二十五分，还有五分钟，“咚咚……”有人敲门了，一定是妈妈！我兴奋地打开了门，真的是妈妈耶！妈妈，节日快乐！以前都是您为我做饭，今天就让我为你做饭吧！愿您永远年轻漂亮！我深情地说。
看着妈妈那开心而得意的微笑，我心中格外开心。
那天，我不仅深深表达了对妈妈的祝福，还让我享受了自己劳动的快乐。
