我们首先前往山谷的方向走，来到了生态公园，放眼望去园区已被土石流淹没了，河流夹带黄滚滚的砂石和满目疮痍的.情景是多么的悽惨，与之前的印象简直天壤之别。因无情的台风横扫过山谷，把园区的建筑都毁灭了，人们的坚守和未来重建计划，期待有崭新面貌和大家见面。

接着前往下一站大湖，往山上一路走去，沿路看到茶园风光。前面视线越来越朦胧，雾气笼罩着整个山区，让我感觉漫步在云端呢！山区和平地市区的天气温度相差竟高达十几度，于是，我们把车窗摇下来，微风凉意袭来，酷热的暑气随即抛到九霄云外。美不胜收的大湖老街，有各式各样的伴手礼，例如：火车饼、草仔粿、爱玉、铁蛋等和各种木屐，总是吸引不少游客购买。铁路便当更是不可错过的美食，我们在大湖车站月台旁边买了排骨便当，菜色有半颗滷蛋、龙须菜、笋子、萝卜干……等，铁路便当配菜很丰富，也很有特色。

大湖是避暑胜地，有机会不妨上山走走，享用美味的铁路便当，相信会让人流连忘返。
