we know that despite the fact that seventy percent of the earth＇s surface is covered with water, only a little part of it is fresh water. yet the demand for fresh water in our daily life and in industry seems great. moreover, with the expansion of the population and development of industry, the amount of the fresh water needed will increase even rapidly. it is estimated that if such a trend continues, the fresh water on earth will be exhausted very soon. what is worse, more and more water resources are being polluted, making the water unfit to use.
in addition,we must warn the people of the importance of water and the danger we are facing.for example, in most asian societies where rice is the staple food, the water used after cleaning rice contains various nutrients for plant growth and is an excellent detergent to flush the toilet. furthermore, the intriguing idea of converting the inexhaustible sea water to fresh water supplies will be the ultimate solution.

星期四下午的最后一节课，老师 带领我们去操场上观察 小昆虫 ，我选择 观察 蚂蚁 ，听到老师 一声令下，我们便闪电 般地冲到花坛边，迅速地挖起土来。
不一会儿，我们就挖到了一个蚁巢，那里的蚂蚁 可真多呀！我抓起一只放到手心上，仔细观察 起来，我发现 蚂蚁 小小的头上长了一对细细的触角，细细的脖子上连着小小的身体，鼓起的“大”肚子下面长着三对细细的腿，我还发现 蚂蚁 的.身体分为三部分，分别是头部、胸部、腹部。我又抓起一只蚂蚁 放到我的边上，好像要爬到我的手上跟我“决一死战”，我立即把它放回土里。这时听孙瑞辰说发现 蚁王了，我便跑过去看，刚走过去，蚁王就飞走了，我看见它的背部是红色的。这时，我想起蚂蚁 是“小小大力士”的试验，我从口袋里掏出一些饼干屑，饼干屑对我来说非常小，但是对蚂蚁 来说却很大，我抓来一只蚂蚁 放到饼干屑上，蚂蚁 用触角碰了碰，立即返回洞里，不一会儿，一群蚂蚁 走了出来，把饼干屑抬进洞里去了。
通过这节课的观察 ，我对昆虫 了解了许多，下次有时间我还要去观察 昆虫 。

这本书的作者通过仔细观察，多次实验，细致描写了各种昆虫的生活习性，繁殖和捕食的方式，向读者展现了一个奇妙的昆虫世界。作者写得生动有趣，读者读得兴趣盎然。
整本书所写的昆虫都使我感到有趣之极。这都要归功于作者的仔细观察，细致描写。如螳螂的大腿下面生长着两排十分锋利的像锯齿一样的东西。在两排尖利的锯齿后面，还长着一些大牙，一共三颗。“为首的那条松毛虫一面探测，一面悄悄地挖一下泥土，似乎在测定土的性质”等，这些只有仔细观察才能写出来。光是仔细观察还不够，还要细致描写，读者才能看得懂，又如这小筒的处貌，有点像丝织品，白里略秀一点红，小筒的上面叠着一层层鳞片，就跟屋顶上的瓦白似的等，这些细致描写，使整本书写得更加生动、具体、引人入胜。
昆虫世界非常奇妙！在我还没读这本书之前，我不知道窄虫会穿“衣服”，不知道松蛾虫预测天气，不知道小蜘蛛会用丝线飞到各个地方。现在我已经知道了。有些动物的思维方式比人还高，例如赤条蜂给卵留食物时，是把毛毛虫弄得不能动，失去知觉，而不是***死毛毛虫，这样子就可以给食物“免费”保鲜。又如舍腰锋给卵捕蜘蛛时，只捕小的，这样每只就可以使小虫子只要一顿就可吃到新鲜的，怎么样？聪明吧！
读完《昆虫记》这本书后，让我深深体会到：生活是写作的源泉，只对你感性趣的事情仔细观察，那是不够的，还要对你周围的一切仔细观察，就能了解世界有多么奇妙！
