康福思的父母发现康福思弱听，便带他去医院检查，医生说康福思患了无法治疗的病——耳硬化症！十年之后，将什么也听不见了。当康福思知道了这一切，他很难过，这噩耗简直像晴天霹雳。他知道，如果他不抓紧这十年的时间，十年之后他什么也听不见了，将会一事无成。所以，从那以后，康福思更刻苦了。最后，他在酶催化反应和有机分子合成方面取得了突出贡献，荣获诺贝尔化学奖。
还有很多人和康福思一样，在艰苦的环境下，不气馁，坚持刻苦读书，获得了举世闻名的成绩。张海迪就是这样的一个人。她5岁时因患脊骨髓血管瘤，高位截瘫，她因此没有进过学校，童年时就开始以顽强的毅力自学知识，她先后自学了小学、中学、大学的专业课程，被誉为“当代保尔”。
虽然残疾人身上有些部位残疾了，但他们不会因此觉得自己没有用了，而是继续发奋读书，创造出了奇迹。我们正常人应该学习残疾人不畏艰辛，奋发向上的精神，要有自信，不怕困难，也能成为创造出奇迹的人！
