一个星期天，我坐公共汽车准备去外婆家。车上的人不多，我轻松地找了个位置坐下。过了一站，上来了一些人，其中有一位身穿军装的解放军。解放军快速地找了个靠窗的位置坐下，这时，车上的位置被坐满了。

到了一站，人们有的下车了，但又上来了一些人，其中有一位白发苍苍的老太太。车上的位置已经被坐满了，老太太拉着扶手，那摇摇晃晃的情形真让人替她担心。人们虽然都想给老人让座，但又怕自己从此没有位置。我也萌生了让座的念头，但仅仅一闪而过，因为我只要再坐一站就可以下车了。

人们就都向解放军投去了期望的目光，想让他给老人让座。解放军非但不理，而且还若无其事地看着外面的风景。一位好心的小伙子拍拍解放军的'肩，说：嗨，你去给老人家让个座吧！我把位置给你。解放军一听，把头摇得跟波浪鼓似的。人们开始对解放军乐于助人的光辉形象有了异议，便议论起来。我也对这有了看法。解放军听到人们议论他，但还是望着车外，对车内说的一概当没听见。

那是在一个风和日丽的星期六下午，我正走在去图书馆的途中，一边走一边想着去图书馆借什么书，走到马路边时，我看见一个老奶奶拄着拐杖慢悠悠地在车流中穿梭着，十分危险。我想去帮她，但我被那疾驰的车流吓到了。突然，一辆车正向老奶奶驶去，显然，那辆车的司机并没有注意到老奶奶，而老奶奶也丝毫没有察觉。这时，那辆车已经距离老奶奶不足两米远了，在这危急关头，一个年轻人从路边跑进车流中，一把推开老奶奶，老奶奶安全了，那个年轻人却被车撞飞出去好几米，鲜血洒落一地。在场的人们都呆住了，路过的人也停住了脚步，有些人看着看着就已经泣不成声，我的眼眶也已经湿润。我不忍心再看下去，继续走向图书馆。到了图书馆，我还想着刚才的一幕，我努力让自己的心平静下来，只可惜，我还是没做到。我匆忙借了两本书，离开了图书馆。走到刚才的地方，那个年轻人已经被送往医院了，现场也有人正清理着。我一路沉思着走回了家。
