古城空间格局包括古城的平面布局、方位轴线、道路骨架、河网水系等。它们能反映城市的文化景观、规划布局思想、历史发展、社会文化模式;古城自然环境包括城市及其郊区的重要地形、地貌、原野、与重要历史有关的山、水、花、木、原野特征。城市的自然环境与城市的景观、文化、生态紧密相联;古城建筑风格包括建筑的式样、高度、体量、材料、平面布局、与周围建筑的关系等。建筑风格影响城市风貌特色。
