上周六，妈妈从山东曲阜出差回来。带给我的礼物是一个精美的绿色织绵缎盒子。我问妈妈：“里面装的是什么呀？”，来不及等妈妈回答，我就迫不急待地打开盒盖。只见盒子里铺着红色的丝绒，丝绒上横躺着一块长方形的玉黄色带花纹的石头。我把石头拿在手上细看，看到石头上刻着二排行书――锲而不舍，金石可镂。我疑惑地望着妈妈，问道：“妈妈，这个有什么用呢？这上面刻的\'字是什么意思呢？”妈妈把我拉到沙发边坐下，对我说：“这块石头叫镇纸，是常用的文具之一，主要用以压住纸张或书册。
这上面刻的字，出自中国古代战国时期著名的思想家、文学家、教育家荀子所作的《荀子劝学》篇里的二句话――锲而舍之，朽木不折；锲而不舍，金石可镂。这句话的意思是：不能坚持到底，腐朽的木头也不会折断；坚持不懈，坚硬的石头也可以镂空。你能好好体会一下这句话更深层的含义吗？
听了妈妈的话，我拿着镇纸石回到了书房。我坐在书桌前，把镇纸石放在面前，静静地望着那二排字想着，这句话的意思是要我们做一件事情，要坚持不懈。我长这么大了，有没有坚持不懈地去做一件事情呢？可是，我又该坚持不懈做什么事情呢？突然，我觉得有一点可怕。五年的小学生活，我居然没有目标，糊里糊涂就混过去了！如果继续这样下去，再过四年的中考我会怎么样？会不会考不进高中，那时大家都继续学习，我该怎么办？再过十年，我将会长大成人，踏上社会，到那时候我会不会学无所成，找不到工作，还象现在这样什么都要家里照顾，成为现在报上、电视上所说的啃老族？！想着想着，我不由得心烦意乱，不知所措，连外婆叫我吃晚饭的声音都没听见。
忽然，我感到有人在我背后轻轻地拍拍我的肩，回头一看，原来是妈妈。妈妈温和地说：“我看到你这样发呆好些时间了，看来这个礼物没有白送啊。刚才的反思，让你感到了压力和彷徨了吧？”我轻轻地点了点头，感到妈妈象是看透了我的内心深处。望着她，我露出了满脸的羞愧。只见妈妈语重心长地对我说：“你能有这样的感觉，说明你还是懂事明理的。但是，仅仅是明白还不够，必须要有行动才行啊！你愿意这样糊里糊涂混下去，将来一事无成吗？妈妈知道你的理想是当一名机械工程师。可是你想过，怎样才能实现自己的理想吗？这个理想虽然离你还很遥远，可是，如果你不是一步一个脚印去努力，那只能是一个空想！”
听了妈妈的话，我觉得豁然开朗。理想对于我虽然遥远，但必须通过不断的努力才能实现。既然我现在是一个学生，那最重要的事情就是把书读好。学习不是给老师学，给家长学，如果只是贪玩，继续象现在这样日日过着没有目标的生活，那必定有悔之莫及的一天。我现在的目标就是要把改变学习态度，把书读好，争取在学习中取得好成绩，将来能考上自己喜欢的大学专业。我把这个决心告诉了妈妈。妈妈说：“好啊，既然这样，你就带着目标上路吧！记住要锲而不舍，有了目标，还必须要坚持，才会有了成功！妈妈祝你成功！”
妈妈，放心吧，儿子会努力的，你看我的行动吧！

天灰蒙蒙的，又阴又冷。寒冷的北风似乎要把整个人吞没掉。
这是战乱的岁月。暮色笼罩着一个边远僻静的村落石壕村。诗人杜甫从洛阳向华州赶路。这一天，天色已经昏暗，诗人错过了旅店，只好投宿在石壕村。
房东是一对年迈的老人，还有他们的寡媳和尚未断奶的小孙子。他们衣着破旧，面黄肌瘦。
一天的劳累奔波，诗人和衣而卧，很快就进入了梦乡。约莫二更时分，一阵犬吠，村中突然纷乱起来，粗暴的`叫喊声、急促的打门声越来越近了。诗人被惊醒了，借着惨淡的月光向外窥看，原来差吏又来抓壮丁了。房东一家吓得心惊胆战。老翁慌忙披上一件破褂，匆匆爬过屋后的断墙，向村外逃去。老妇人战战兢兢，颤抖着去开门。
砰的一声，门还没有开，就被差吏一脚踹开，只听道差吏粗野地吼道：你家男人呢？你家还要再征派一个男子去当兵。把人交出来！老妇人苦苦哀求道：长官，我家有三个儿子都去戍守邺城了。最近一个儿子写了封信回来说，两个兄弟都战死了。哎，我担心他的幸免也难保全啊！官爷，可怜可怜我这个老婆子吧屋里实在没有人了！
哇孩子的啼哭声突然响起来了。
你还说没人！这孩子哪儿来的！他的父母呢？你敢欺骗官府！差吏吆喝着，挥动皮鞭往里闯。
老妇人眼看哀求无用，哽咽着说：我的媳妇刚失去了丈夫，带着还在吃奶的孩子艰难度日，连一件穿得出去的衣服也没有了。孤儿寡母，可怎么过啊？你们实在要人，就把我这个老婆子拉去顶差吧，我随你们去，也许还来得及赶到军队烧早饭。
差吏们骂骂咧咧地把老妇人带出了院子。在惨淡的月光下，老妇人回头望望自己破旧的茅屋，掩面而去。孩子的啼哭声一阵阵传来，令人肝肠寸断。
夜深了，窗外万籁俱寂，说话的声音没有了，似乎听到有人低声在哭，这哭声在旷野上飘荡。
诗人一夜无眠，他的耳边仿佛仍然回响着老妇人凄惨的哭诉声。天蒙蒙亮，诗人收拾好衣服和悄然回家的老翁告别。面对这令人心碎的现实，诗人还能用什么样的话语安慰这痛苦万分的老人呢，只能长叹一声，放了几两碎银在老人的身边，然后，他的身影慢慢消失在萧索的村路上。

I surely disagree with father ’s philosophy. As a leader, he shouldn ’t use his power to make money. It is his duty to serve people wholeheartedly, just one person said “with great power comes great responsibility ”. If he stick to his philosophy. I believe that he will spend the rest of his life in prison. What’s worse, he could affect his son ’s philosophy, guiding him in the opposite direction , nothing can be done to reverse the trend itself. The only solution is to change father ’s philosophy. Because of many greedy officials in China, it is time to reverse the trend itself by establishing new policy. As Chinese always has been our confidence that we can change for the better and better.
In my opinion, there is more to to life than just money -it is happiness, nothing is important than happiness. We can live a colorful life in our spare time.
