dear tom,
how are you?
i would like to tell you something that took place in my school yesterday. in the afternoon the school held a growing-up ceremony for our coming 18-year-old birthday. at the beginning we made an oath that as grown-ups we should have a sense of responsibility for our society. next we expressed our thands to our parents who brought us up and to our teachers for their education. then our teachers gave us cards with good wishes. finally, we had wonderful performances. i learned a lot from the activity. i am sure the ceremony is very important for us. from then on we will know our responsibilities as grown-ups.

September 16
Dear Zhang Hong,
How is everything with you I hope things are going well.
There is not much news here.I just go to work every morning and come back to my apartment every night.Shanghai is crowded with people, but I don\'t really know any of them.I don\'t like the city, but my job is quite interesting, and the pay is quite good.
What are your plans for National Day If you don\'t have anything special,I hope you can visit Shanghai.Come and share my apartment. It is quite large and it is near the theatres, museums and stores.
Write soon, and say you can spend the holiday here.
Sincerely yours
Li Hua
Dear Jim,
I really feel worried about you. You used to do well in your lessons and took an active part in the activities at school. But now you are so crazy about computer games that you have no interest in your schoolwork and don\'t listen to teachers as carefully as before in class. Also, you can\'t hand in your homework on time.
Perhaps playing computer games can make you feel relaxed, but if you spend too much time on it, you will have less time to study. And it may do harm to your health. For example, it can hurt your eyes and neck.
I hope you should achieve a balance between your schoolwork and your hobbies. Why not join in some outdoor activities when you feel bored? As your friend, I‘ll be glad to share your happiness and sadness.
Best wishes
Li Hua
Dear Sunsan,
I am very glad to receive your letter. And I\'d like very much to be your pen friend. I was born in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province on October 18, 1993. Now I am studying at Yingze Primary School. There are about 100 teachers and 1,500 students in our school. We study Chinese, maths, English and some other subjects. I like English best, because it is useful in the world.
There are three people in my family. My parents are both doctors. I love them, and they are very kind to me. But they are strict with me, too.
I hope one day I can go and visit your country.
With best regards!
Yours,
Zhang Li
