这本书主要讲了，主角王小豆在和小伙伴在一间房屋前玩足球，王小豆一不小心在传球的时候把球打进了屋子的窗户里，打碎了窗户，其他小伙伴担心被发现了，就一个劲地溜走了，王小豆侧呆呆的站在那里，不知所措。这时，一位小伙伴急忙地拉着她的.手，想要带她溜走，可是王小豆松开了小伙伴的手，站在了门前，好像要等这间屋子的主人出来呢！那个小伙伴见她这样，也顾不上她了，就跟着别的小伙伴一起溜走了。不一会儿，一个满脸怒气的妇女拿着个笤帚从屋子里恼怒的走了出来，到处张望，好像在找那个打碎她家窗户的人呢，王小豆勇敢的承认了错误，并向屋子里的主人道歉。事后，小伙伴们开始追问她，但她只是说了这样一句话，诚实是无价之宝，只要你有了诚信，就等于有了一笔金子，无价的金子！永远花不完的金子！
是呀！诚实是金子！诚实很可贵，也很有价值，只要我们利用好它，尊重好它，我们就会得到它给予我们的“无价之宝”——快乐与幸福。
