我上幼儿园的时候就很喜欢画画到处涂鸦，妈妈就送我上了美术兴趣班，5岁那年参加全国比赛获得了一等奖，那个时候我的兴趣可高呢!星期天风雨无阻的去参加学习。随着课程的提高老师就开始教授美术基本功的训练，天天画对着石膏模型进行素描临摹。这时我感觉学习越来越枯燥、乏味，也没了精神。上课马马虎虎，回家也拖拖拉拉，敷衍了事进步也不大。
有一个冬天的晚上，我画到很晚我的画画作品也没有画完，妈妈非常生气，严厉的对我说：“如果你怕艰苦，不能坚持，那么你就不学了吧。”我撅了撅嘴，毫不在乎的说：“哼!不学不学了。”双方剑拔弩张，妈妈顿了一顿，将我拉到沙发旁边坐了下来和颜悦色的给我讲了一个宜昌历史名人欧阳修的故事，欧阳修曾任夷陵(今湖北宜昌县令，他小时父亲去世了，家里生活十分困难。他的母亲没钱买笔，就用芦苇杆在地上写写画画，教儿子学习。欧阳修也十分刻苦读书。后来中了进士，文章名冠天下。唐宋八大家中的宋代六家，其他五家差不多都出自他的门下，其中就包括大名鼎鼎的苏东坡。听了这个故事，让我明白了一个道理：“任何人的成功都是他长期坚持、刻苦努力的结果。”我想到了多年来不管刮风下雨还是烈日炎炎，妈妈都送我去学画画，当时我的心里感到十分惭愧。
“宝剑锋从磨砺出，梅花香自苦寒来。”
从那以后我学画画就更加用心了，又多次获得了全国和省市美术比赛的奖励。去年暑假爸爸妈妈为了增长我的知识面，还专门带我到武汉去参观了湖北省博物馆，欣赏到了很多古代精美的艺术品呢。
