可是妈妈和贝贝左等右等都不见爸爸回家，贝贝自言自语：“爸爸怎么还不回来?”这时“叮铃铃”电话响了，原来是爸爸打来的：“今天我要加班，回来晚一些。”
贝贝失望极了：“唉!今天可是重大的日子呀!爸爸也太不给力了!”妈妈叫贝贝别等了，但贝贝不同意: “不行，我一定要等爸爸回来。”贝贝一直手捧着鲜花，静静地靠在妈妈的怀里，她们一起坐在桌边，焦急地等待着。
等呀等，已经八点半了，“吱扭---”开门声打破了屋里的宁静，贝贝高兴地叫：“爸爸，你终于回来了!”贝贝赶紧把鲜花递过去：“爸爸，祝你生日快乐!你辛苦了!”爸爸看到鲜花和蛋糕惊喜地说：“谢谢你们，我都忙得忘了自己的生日了。”

妈妈站在门口，仿佛做梦一般。当爸爸走上前祝福妈妈生日快乐，并告诉她这一切都是我的“杰作”时，妈妈的眼圈红了，眼里噙满了激动的泪水。妈妈紧紧地把我搂进怀里，喃喃低语着：“我的孩子长大了，我的孩子长大了。”
给妈妈过生日，这是我什么时候有的想法？哦，对了，是今年我过生日的.时候。
每年，不管店里多么忙碌，妈妈总忘不了我的生日，总要郑重其事地为我庆祝。今年，妈妈患病了——腰间盘突出。整天忙里忙外的妈妈只好躺在床上，几乎不能动弹，连翻个身都会疼得浑身冒汗。可就是这样，妈妈还是没忘了我的生日，嘱咐爸爸别委屈了我。我说：“妈妈，您都病成这样了，干吗还惦记着我的生日呀！”
