“只要功夫深，铁杵磨成针”这句话激励着世世代代的人们努力去做好每一件事。是啊，哪有一件事是不花功夫就能做到的呢？
就在这个暑假里，我因为每次在学校的游泳课上不会游泳，只能看着别人在水中嬉戏、玩耍而感到惭愧又羡慕，所以特地让妈妈帮我报了一个游泳班。
刚来到游泳馆，一股刺鼻的消毒水味扑鼻而来。我小心翼翼的扶着栏杆下水，用脚指尖轻轻碰了一下水面，呀，水可凉了！心想：不管了，拼了。当我下半身全浸在水里时，我不禁打了一个冷颤，教练让我们先在水下学憋气，深吸一口气，然后把头整个钻进水里。这时，我的心不由得紧张起来，怀中的小鹿砰砰直跳。我看着教练的示范，也有模有样地学了起来。
可刚下去，没憋住气就起来了，还不小心呛到了水，整个鼻子阵阵酸楚。教练接着又说：“下去时不要吸气，憋不住了，上来张开嘴巴吸气就行了。”我掌握了技巧，这一次我足足憋了7秒。对我这个初学者来说，这个数字是多么的伟大啊，心里乐滋滋的，以为学游泳就是这么简单的。我又趴在岸上练习蛙泳的蹬腿和划手，接着就要在水中完成这些动作了。
第一次下去，我就猛喝到了一大口水，难受得喘不过气来，眼睛也酸酸的，心里很不是滋味。蹬腿、憋气学会了，然后要在水中练习正式的蛙泳动作了，教练还给我们指定了一条路线长达4米的泳道，想想也恐怖。4米对一个游泳健将来说，简直就是小菜一碟，可对我这个初学者来说，那简直是困难重重啊！我拼尽全力地游到终点，可教练却说：“一共10遍，你才游了1遍，继续回去游。”好不容易完成了任务，累得上气不接下气，还呛到了几口水，不想学的念头，在我脑海里隐约浮现。
当天晚上，妈妈知道了我的畏难情绪，她和蔼地对我说：“孩子，你做事怎么能半途而废呢？如果农民伯伯种粮食、蔬菜到一半，嫌它们成熟的`时间太慢了，把苗拔了，你还能吃到米饭吗？如果运动员们不刻苦练习，中途放弃，在奥运赛场上还能看到他们英姿飒爽的身影吗？如果大家都像你这样，任何事做到一半，就没心情，不做了，你觉得这个世界会是什么样呢？”妈妈的这番话，深深地映在我脑海中，于是，我决定重振旗鼓，继续学下去。虽然，有时会练得腿都抽筋，手脚都起皮发皱，但我对自己说：你一定行的，一定会学会。
经过几堂课的训练，我终于学会了，虽然力气不够，但也可以游上十来米远，换四、五次气了。“世上无难事，只怕有心人”，只要我们坚持不懈，努力拼博，不半途而废，一定会取得成功，实现梦想。
