Sense and Sensibility was the first Jane Austen published. Though she initially called it Elinor and Marianne, Austen jettisoned both the title and the epistolary mode in which it was originally written, but kept the essential theme: the necessity of finding a workable middle ground between passion and reason. The story revolves around the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne. Whereas the former is a sensible,, rational creature, her younger sister is wildly romantic--a characteristic that offers Austen plenty of scope for both satire and compassion. Commenting on Edward Ferrars, a potential suitor for Elinors hand, Marianne admits that while she "loves him tenderly," she finds him disappointing as a possible lover for her sister.

Yesterday was Father's Day. I had planned to give my father a present. But I didn't remember it until in the morning.It was too late to post a card to him. So I decided to buy something. When I was in the department store. I found it was not easy for me to choose something right for him. Suddenly I
got an idea. I ran home and opened my computer. I made a beautiful card and mailed him through the Internet. then I began to make supper. When father came home, he was very glad to find a big meal on the table. then I asked him to check his e-mail. He was amazed to find a beautiful card in his e-mail-box.

放学回家的是候父亲曾跟我聊天说道,小学时,我们的校长曾说:广德这个地方的学校是个怪胎,广德的私立学校异常发达,而公立学校却很弱,为什么,难道私立学校真的好一些吗?但是在别的地方好学校都是公立学校,那这是为什么呢,这是因为广德公立学校的老师对学生不负责任,他们不去管学生。我的父亲有在这上面又提了个问题:“这与老师管不管学生真的有很大的关系吗?我不敢说没有,但绝不是全部或者是多数,难道学生没有自控力吗,不会自己学习吗,如果是那个学生不是自己去学习那又有什么用呢?”是呀,如果是一个学生自己放弃了自己,不愿意去学,不愿意去争取,那就算老师再好有什么用呢?结果又有什么不一样呢?无非不就是一个“名师之徒”的名号与无名老师之徒的名号,仅此而已。如果一个学生他自己愿意去学习,那么就算是一个极不负责任的.老师那又有什么关系,他们会想着法子去学,去探讨。学习的精神是阻挡不了的。而名师不过是给你提供一个方便的学习环境,少走一些弯路,领导你去学习,给你起个蒙,还是那句话“仅此而已”。想一想向钱学森,杨振林他们的老师真的很出名吗?实则不是,他们的老师你连名字都没有听说过。那他们有是怎么成功的,那是因为他们自己愿意去学,急迫的去学。
当然也可以说现在的学生没有堕落而是缺少一个目标而已,一种决心,一种梦想。当然这梦想或者目标是说什么长大要当什么宇航员,要当作家,要当科学家。而是一种坚韧不拔的信念。举几个例子,近代时期中国激荡不平,天灾,人祸,国乱,被入侵等等。在这种环境下***坚毅的去说:“我要为中华之崛起而读书!”他确切的说他到底要干什么了吗,答案是:有也没有。其实他并不知道他日后到底要去做些什么,所以他没有。但是他有是在说他明白他日后要向什么方想去努力,他要去解放中国,他要去让中国这头沉睡的狮子醒来,让世界大国的花名册上出现这样一个国家“中华人名共和国”,国家需要什么么他就去学什么,他原来是一所海军学校的学生,如果按套路的话,他日后是一名海军,但是他的志向是去旧中国,所以他走上一个危险的道路,成为了中华人民共产党的领导者,去领导中国解放。而事实也证明他成功了,他是这类人的一个很好的代表。但是如果他从小过着如现在这样无忧无虑的生活,他日后的成就真的有这么大吗?不敢说没有但是会达到这样一个高度吗?因为一个信念导致他拼命的去学习。
还有一个例子,被誉为“民族魂”的大文豪鲁迅先生,他一开始是从文的吗?不他原本是学医的,准备医学救国,但自从看见了麻木的中国人吗,他明白他要解放人民的思想而弃医从文。总之只有一个目的,国家需要什么他就去学什么。这便是他不断学习的理由,所以他也就自己自觉的去学习。
所以这些例子都证明了现在的孩子不是懒惰了,而是缺少了这样一种信念,一种坚定的决心。
