本书向我们介绍了如何快速阅读的方法，如“流水式”阅读、“一行采集”等阅读技巧和如何挑选书籍，整理书籍等。当然作为一本介绍阅读方法的工具书，它所阐述的方法并不普适于所有读者。通过作者的自述，快速阅读仅适用于可以快速阅读的书籍，如商务书和时下新书，而就我个人而言，我很少触及这些类型的书籍，我更偏向于故事性较强的小说和随笔游记等书籍，那么我就不能像作者一样去阅读。因而对我来说，本书的价值有限。对于阅读有着不同需求的读者，本书的价值也因人而异，但我们可以采取其中仍对我们有着普遍价值的方法，如“一行”理论。
（个人观点，不喜勿喷）本书的某些观点也存在问题。作为职业和兴趣不能像作者一样对书籍有着密切的关系的大部分人而言，一年阅读700本亦或是作者所倡导的300本的阅读量是不可越过的门槛，兴趣爱好，阅读需求，生活理念以及时空间的限制，使得每个人的阅读量有所不同。对于作者整理书籍的方式，根据阅读时间的远近和书籍的时效性来决定书籍是否有继续保留的价值，对此我亦不敢苟同。我们不能因为一段时间没有阅读一本书而判断这本书对我们是没有什么用的，由于眼界和当下需求等原因，我们没有精力和时间去阅读，但这并不代表它对我们的价值有限。
归根结底，本书的价值因人而异。读书一方面是为了提高个人能力，一方面是为了满足心灵愉悦。因而我认为，面对一本书，你想从中获取些什么和你对该书的态度，才是对你阅读速度最大的影响。
