一位父亲有几个孩子，这些孩子时常发生口角。他丝毫没有办法来劝阻他们，只好让他们看看不合群所带来害处的例子。为了达到这个目的，有一天他叫他们替他拿一捆细柴来。当他们把柴带来时，他便先后地将那捆柴放在每一个孩子的手中，吩咐他们弄断这捆柴。他们一个个尽力去试，总是不能成功。
然后他解开那捆柴，一根根地放在他们手里，如此一来，他们便毫不费力地折断了。于是他就告诉他们说：「孩子们！如果你们大家团结一致，互相帮助，你们就像这捆柴一样，不能被你们的敌人折断；但如果你们自行，你们就将和这些散柴一般，不堪一折了。」

英语在我们生活中所占的比重越来越大，也是每学期继语文、数学后另一门参加全区统考的科目，许多家长已经开始逐步重视自己孩子的英语学习。对此，我们英语老师感到特别欣慰。为了使孩子的学习进步更快，同时也针对家长应该如何在家中辅导孩子学习英语，尤其是在期末复习阶段中如何辅导孩子复习得更有效率，特作如下建议:
1、 多听录音磁带:我们生活在汉语环境中，这对孩子们学习英语造成了一定的阻碍;而有的家长不会说英语或发音不准确，这些因素都会或多或少地影响孩子们学习英语。因为，在家如果多放放录音磁带，人为地给孩子们造成一种英语语境，会对孩子英语学习帮助很大。(注:在听的同时研究看着对应的课本内容，切记不要读望天书。
2、 尽力模仿录音磁带:鼓励自己的`孩子模仿磁带里的话语，并进行比较。家长也可以和自己的孩子一起模仿，来一场比赛。以活泼而有趣的方式激发孩子学习英语的兴趣。
3、 听、认、读结合:所谓听、认、读结合，就是在孩子们听录音的同时能够指认出课本上相关的内容，并能模仿出比较准确的语音语调。家长们如果能够多抽出些时间在这个阶段陪自己的孩子养成一种听、认、读结合的学习方法，将会对孩子以后的学习能力培养有很大的帮助。
4、 期末复习阶段中，可按照本年级制定的复习计划和复习要求对孩子进行督促和辅导，提高孩子的复习效率，使孩子在最后的期末考试中取得好成绩，英语学习能力能够切实提高。
