鸭妈妈有四只漂亮的小鸭子。最大的一只叫莲莲，第二大的叫丫丫，第三大的叫扑扑，最小的一只花花。他们住在一个美丽的'小岛上。
一天，鸭妈妈带着孩子们来到小岛外的大河里游玩。这条大河十分美丽，河水碧蓝碧蓝的，清澈见底，旁边还有郁郁葱葱的树木。孩子们感到十分新鲜，欢快地游来游去。鸭妈妈想：该带孩子们玩什么游戏呢？有了！“孩子们，快过来，我们来玩一个‘老鹰捉小鸭’的游戏。”鸭妈妈挥舞着羽毛说。小鸭子们已经不止一次玩过这个游戏了，他们高兴地都围在鸭妈妈身旁，“谁要当老鹰？”“我！我！”扑扑抢先说道。“好，那就你吧。”于是，扑扑在前面充当老鹰，其它人尾随鸭妈妈。扑扑首先往左边跑去，鸭妈妈就用羽毛挡着，并原地向左旋转。扑扑想：我不能就这么死命地跑哇！不然永远都捉不住别人。我的想个办法！过了一会儿，扑扑眼珠子骨碌一转，想到了一个好主意，只见他趁鸭妈妈不备，往右边跑去，丫丫来不及躲闪，被抓住了。扑扑得意极了！而丫丫却伤心不已！
小鸭们都玩的很高兴。最后，鸭妈妈看天色已晚，就带他们回家了。
