教育者，理当如此。教育是一项伟大的塑造人的灵魂的工作，但教育往往从小处着手。教师的一言一行，一举一动，都会对学生产生大的影响。因此，教师要从小处修炼自己。比如，老师们早晨骑着自行车或电瓶车到校，在车棚里，是将自己的车先从里面放，还是先从外口放，这就是小事。放在外口，自己行动方便，但里面空着，后来的老师车子就无法入里。在排放时，是否注意留下别人出行的走道，这是需要考虑的。再如，在学校里，看到地上有纸屑，是否主动弯腰拾起；遇到学生，是否主动给学生以微笑；看到没有拧紧的水龙头，是否主动上前拧好；看到学生没有家长来带，是否主动问问原因，主动把电话借给学生联系……这些都看似小事，但反映的却是老师的内心是否伟大。泰戈尔有一句诗：“你微笑着，对我不发一言，我却觉得自己为此已经等待了很久。”我们的微笑，不能让学生有久违的感觉。苏霍姆林斯基在《要相信孩子》一书中说：“我认为，对人漠不关心是最不能容忍、最危险的一种缺点。”连微笑都没有，就是对他人漠不关心的外在表现。
教育，是一门爱的艺术。泰戈尔说：“我们爱这世界时，我们便活在这世上。”套用这句话，也可以说，我们爱教育时，我们便活在教育里。而爱，同样在细微处显现。我深爱着我们东桥小学。每天早晨，我早早地来到学校，漫步于花圃，徜徉于校园。我能记得，新移植的树在哪个位置又冒出了新叶；新栽的凌霄花茎里是绿的，但还没有露出嫩芽。我真担心，它能否醒得过来。于是，我每天都会与它有个照面，期待有一片不经过仔细观察就不会发现的叶子神奇出现。校园里的每一颗树木都是有生命的，我总不舍得将树从一处移到另一处。学校花圃里，新移植来一棵银杏树，造型长得一般，有人建议把它移走，我不忍地说：“刚刚移来，就不移去吧。它也是生命，说不定一移，它就会枯死。这样，我们对生命就不尊重。还是让它慢慢长成参天大树吧。”写到这里，我又想起了泰戈尔的一句话：“安静，我的`心，这些树木在祈祷。”这些树木都是有灵性的，关键是我们有没有与它们共处的心境，有没有尊重它们的情怀。
最近，我买了朱赢椿先生的《虫子旁》一书，还未开启阅读。但我以为，一个人能静下心来，仔细观察细小的虫子，胸怀怜悯之心，其人一定是向善的。教育者，如果也有这种心态与心境，对待学生就一定不会粗鲁、粗暴，即使有时高高举起教鞭，但也一定会轻轻落下。
教育，贵在落到细微处，落实在一个眼神，一次微笑，一次握手，一次作业面批，一次点头，一声问候，一语鼓励……教育，因细微而美丽，而伟大，而令人回味无穷。还是用泰戈尔的话来说：“伟大不惧与渺小同行。”
