真是的，就算一定得搭野鸡车，也应该睁大眼睛啊，居然司机一说是回头车我就上了，说载不载都无所谓，我就让他开。为什么我当时没有考虑到旅途的安全问题呢？报纸上几乎天天有计程车司机在荒郊野外劫财劫色，甚至还要伤人的报道，为什么我这么大意？
果然，车子刚过中坜吧，我就感到异样了。就如同我前面所说，司机一再从后视镜瞅我，瞅得我心底发毛。当然，我身上的钱不多，又是一个大男生，实在不必害怕。不过，如果他真的心怀恶意，如果他嫌钱太少不满意，无论如何，还是我吃亏。我悄悄打量他的体型，没有我高，但是比我结实多了。虽然单打独斗，我未必就会输他，可是他不可能没带东西，而且我根本不想打。
就在这时候，我看到他的右手从方向盘挪开，往下伸，不知在摸什么东西，大概是扁钻或刀子吧？车窗外一片漆黑，正是苗粟一带的山间，歹徒下手最理想的所在。要动手了吧？我下意识坐直身子，冷汗开始往外冒。
什么事也不曾发生，他的手又伸了上来，放在方向盘上，没有拿什么东西。一定是他看出我有了戒备，不敢轻率下手，在等待更恰当的时机吧？难道我就这样束手待毙吗？也许我可以想想办法，化解这场危机。我不是一向自诩最善于动脑筋的吗？怎么突然吓呆了呢？或许我可以试着和他聊聊天，动之以情，让他不好意思动手。
于是我吞了口口水，和他搭讪：
“生意好吗，老乡？”
他似乎吓了一跳，过了好几秒钟才回答我：
“不好啊！几乎连油钱都跑不回来。”
“不会吧？你不是回头车？刚刚还有客人包了你的车去台北，不是吗？”
他不再回答。我突然想到可能不是真的回头车，一紧张，舌头打结，也沉默下来。沉默最适于培养紧张的气氛。为什么他不跟我聊天呢？是不是怕暴露他的口音或其他的特征，增加警方缉捕他的可能？他当然明白，我被抢之后必定会去报案的，好聪明狡猾的家伙！我恨恨地咬了咬牙，他又从后视镜飞快地掠了我一眼。
这一眼非常狠毒，我有生以来不曾看过比这更狠毒的眼神，使我再度直冒冷汗，再度后悔自己的莽撞。即使赶不回员林上课，请一天假又有什么大不了，何必一定要搭野鸡车冒险？
算了，如果他真的要抢，就给他吧！好汉不吃眼前亏，财物嘛，生不带来死不带去，有人要就给他，犯不着因此打斗伤身。可是再想想，不行！这么一来，岂不是助长了恶人的气焰？无论如何，都应该和他拼斗一番，给他一点教训。
两种想法交战缠斗，还没有分出胜负，员林居然到了。可爱的员林！当计程车在公路局车站前一停，我立刻打开车门，冲了下去。松了一口气，才想到还没付钱，便绕过车后，走到司机窗口，伸手到旅行袋里掏钱。突然，车子往前冲，迅速拐一个弯，消失在不远的街角上。我最后看到的，是司机无比惊惶的神色。
怔怔地站在凌晨两点左右冷冷清清的员林街头，莫名其妙地把车钱再放入旅行袋，才看见旅行袋的右方开口突出一截枪管。那是我在台北特地为孩子买回来的玩具枪，枪管太长，无法全部塞进旅行袋里。
解读启示：
主题设立：我搭出租车，以为司机不怀好意，误以为司机是劫财劫色的贼人；司机看到我旅行袋里露出的玩具枪枪管，又误以为我是贼人，最后连车钱都不敢要就溜走了。文章通过两人的误会，入骨三分地表现了台湾当时的社会现实，揭示了人性间爱猜疑、互不信任的丑陋主题。全文气氛沉重，是一种冷峻的`黑色幽默。
情节设计：
（1）确定描写易引起误会的事情、人物：“我”和司机。
（2）情节设计：“因末班火车已开走，我只好搭出租车。”
交代起因，是“起””；
“司机一再从后视镜瞅我，瞅得我心底发毛。我误以为他有不良想法。”
接上文，是“承”
“到苗粟一带山间，司机右手从方向盘挪开，往下伸，大概拿扁钻或刀子吧？要动手了吧？我下意识坐直身子，冷汗开始往外冒。可没有发生什么事。”
是“承”，也是“转”；
“我试着和他聊天，以打消他的念头。他似乎吓了一跳，过了好几秒钟才回答我。是不是怕暴露他的口音或其他的特征，增加警方缉捕他的可能？好聪明狡猾的家伙。”
气氛由舒缓——紧张——舒缓——紧张，是“承”“转”；
“他又从后视镜飞快地掠了我一眼。这一眼非常狠毒，我有生以来不曾看过比这更狠毒的眼神，使我再度直冒冷汗。”
是“转”；
“目的地到了，我还没给钱，便绕过车尾，司机以为我抢劫，无比惊慌的开车走了。”气氛紧张，是“承”，“转”；“我纳闷中看见了旅行袋中露出的玩具枪枪管。我恍然大悟。”
谜底揭开，主题得以表现，是“合”。

While his father told him, “If you can empty the dustbin here you can do anything”. It reveals the importance of doing small things well before undertaking something big. There is also an old Chinese saying to go with this that a person can’t sweep the world before he can sweep his own room.
I agree on the point that it is of great importance for a person to do small things well before undertaking something big. First of all, doing small things well entail the qualities that needed in doing great things such as patience and ability of controlling time. For example, when we sweep our room, we need to manage our time and energy reasonably. Accordingly, if we sweep a bigger room, for example, a classroom with our classmates, we should learn how to cooperate and allot assignments as well. And a big advantage is that we can draw useful lessons from the failure of performing well because they didn’t cost a lot.
In another word, though these things seem trivial, they reinforce our manipulative ability and thus our understanding to the world. Therefore, we should not ignore the small things.

第三段：摆明自己观点。In my opinion, … … is not a good thing. … … With the increasing … …, it will ruin … ….
其次，提纯范文“段落写作”。
段落写作分为统一性，连贯性和完整性三方面。
统一性(unity：段落开头的主题句应该做到不可太宽泛，也不可太具体，做到有较强的概括性才能使下文做到有的放矢的展开。范文第二段首句以设问的方式提出一个问题is it a good or bad thing就有很强的概况性。下文自然会一方面从好的方面说明，另一方面从坏的方面说明。
连贯性(coherence：关联词是使文章段落之间相互连贯的必要条件。范文中nowadays, on one hand, on the other hand, in one’s opinion即以“启承转合”递进的顺序是文章条理清晰，层层展开。
完整性(completeness：以设问句“So far as the present situation is concerned, is it a good or bad thing to open the university campus for tourists?”开头，这是平时较少运用的段落写作方式——设问法。“On one hand … …. On the other hand, … ….”是段落写作分类列举法的典型用法。
再次，提纯范文“句子写作”。
1. It has been shown that … …
类似句型：It is known to us that … …
It is said that … …
It is reported that … …
It is controversial that … …
2. “… … Tsing Hua University and Peking University and other famous universities … …。”——并列句。并列句是简单的复杂句。但其运用方法并不简单，注意练习并接句的使用，会使句子显的更加饱满。
3. enable v. 使…能够
I gave him full directions to enable him to find the house.
4. in that = because
表“因为”的连词还有since, for, as，如：
The boy was absent because he was ill. = The boy was absent since he was ill.
此句以我们常用的人称开头，句式简单，我们可以通过把since提前改变句式，如：
Since the boy was ill, he was absent. 句式多样化。
最后，提纯范文“措辞”。
