一个人，一个时代，一个故事道尽。
生在这个时代的我是何其有幸，国富民强，巍巍华夏闪耀着祖先最灿烂的荣光。书中的描述，我儿时在爷爷姥爷的身上都见过，没错，严老描述的就是和我爷爷，姥爷同龄的王葡萄，或者比他们大十来岁。因为没有亲身经历过那个时代，所以不足以理解很多的细节，因为最亲近的人经历过那个时代，所以能够感同身受。
直到最后，王葡萄头发花白，我才觉得她是奶奶辈儿的人，这几天读的过程中，我始终把她当成是一个大姐姐。苦难的一生，并没有掩盖她光辉的人性，反而她的人格在熠熠生辉。让我在呼伦贝尔独处的日子因为有她而倍感亲切。
她们那个时代着实丰富，却不甚精彩。贫穷，饥饿，内战，抗日战争，大跃进，文革～那时候的人不懂安全感是什么。活着于他们而言偶然性更多一点，他们根本不知道明天和意外哪个先到。然而，这种情况下，葡萄依然坚定，刚毅，执着，她相信没有过不去的坎，就像她说谁在史屯也待不长一样，每一段历史在历史长河中也就是那么一小段。她真诚，她的眼睛从不会欺骗人，她善良，当亲儿子都卖父求荣的时候，她作为一个媳妇儿，一个童养媳，却冒着生命危险拯救和养了公公二三十年，她的爱也纯粹，热烈，不拖泥带水，不藏着掖着，不索取抱怨，她始终有一颗给予的心和宽大的胸怀。虽然生活那么苦，她也能过得有声有色，有滋有味。
也许正是有千千万万个王葡萄，才有了新中国，才有了我们今天的幸福生活。
书会翻完，王葡萄却不会因此而离开，我希望她一直是那个中年的大姐姐，我会很走心的和她交心，向她学习。

One possible version：
The summer holiday is coming. Our class have had a discussion about what to do during the holiday. Some are in favor of staying at home. They think it’s both convenient and comfortable. What’s more, they can save money for other purposes. But they will lose the chance of getting to know the outside world.
However, others prefer to go out for traveling since it can increase their knowledge and broaden their horizons. But they will spend more money and meet some difficulties while traveling.
In my opinion, it would be much better to stay at home, for I can do what I like, such as reading books, watching TV, and helping my parents with the housework.
